The Push Through Winter

2018 has been an interesting start.  I go back to work and am out sick the next three days with a wicked sinus infection.  I come back to work for two days and we’re out four days due to winter weather.  Through it all, I still worked from home, e-mailing my parents about meetings and such.

Now we’re halfway through February and it’s hard to believe our Spring Break is in three weeks.  Then it will be the push to the end of the school year.  Things are going good at work.  Getting meetings scheduled, files entered into the system, making sure all the I’s are dotted and T’s are crossed.  But I found out some interesting news that could affect me going forward.

I guess you could call her head clerical.  She works at Central Office and handles a lot of the heavy stuff…like making sure our online database is running properly and submitting all the paperwork so we get our funding.  Well, my IG case manager heard she may be retiring this year and has let the heads of our department know she thinks they should offer the job to me.

I have thought about this scenario.  And I would love to have the position. More pay, which is a bonus.  Being at Central Office and a step closer to what I would like to do…go back to school and get my Master’s in Special Education, focusing on the administration side.

But at the same time, I would be sad to leave my school.  I like the other office gals.  I love my admins.  And I would miss my teachers.

These next few months are going to be interesting in that account.  We’ll see what happen.  But I’m looking forward to the rush of the last weeks leading up to Summer Break.  Testing, finishing the last meetings for the year, field day, etc.
